Practice Your Rhythm

Some of you may believe that you are not equipped to dance, but I promise you, if you continue to practice, you will get the hang of just how movement works at the sound of music.

In life, it is the same with developing a new habit. You may feel foolish at first, but with a curious intent and attempt to keep on practicing, it will eventually become second nature.

Let us go with an example…

I am aware that for most introverts, it is a battle like the World War to build social skills.

Practicing your rhythm to build this skill may mean that you first engage in the comfort of your safe space. Encourage open discussions with your closest family and friends and then begin to attend conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. to network with other entrepreneurs, potential investors, mentors and so forth.

Here is another example…

I have been battling with the thought of investing in a gym membership. But oh Lord, do the sight of me struggling in public creeps me. I mean, what if a dumbbell slips out of my hands and land on my feet! My face? What if I accidentally pass gas while doing a squat? 😂 Not that it has happened before at home, but oh no, no, no! Not going to bother. However…

I have read from an inspiring influencer that more than half the time, other people are not even paying attention to you as it may seem. Unless you are being admired, which is a good thing, if it is that the intention behind the eyes are well. 🙃 Believe so?

Let’s get back on track.

What we are equipped to do, therefore, is to put effort into whatever it is we consider will be influential for our development—development of the mind, body, soul, community, etc.

The unknown will always be around the corner. Every step that you take is a step into the unknown. We have never made this move before. We have never met this second before. This is the first time you are reading this article. And if you read it for a second time, it is the second time for the first time and with a different perspective. You are perhaps in a familiar environment, but the time is never the same as the last. It keeps progressing.

Life is all new to every person next to you, whether they are aware of this or they are not. And what I want you to do, those who are aware, to keep on practicing whatever it is you feel a lack of and would like to spice up. Do it! Just do it! Do yourself the favour and get it out of the way. Get into labour and foolishly practice your awkwardness. The notion will come into effect eventually and you will have your ‘aha’ moment(s).

Gather yourself and find your rhythm. Jump with fear into the unknown. You do not know it anyway. Catch a groove, get the move, then comeback to tell me how it makes you feel to elevate into a new pattern and a new perspective.

Here are some relatable quotes:

"Most people talk about fear of the unknown, but if there is anything to fear, it is the known." ~Deepak Chopra

"By replacing fear of the unknown with curiosity, we open ourselves up to an infinite stream of possibility. We can let fear rule our lives or we can become childlike with curiosity, pushing our boundaries, leaping out of our comfort zones, and accepting what life puts before us." ~Alan Watts
